Scholarship Program

At Hands for the Filipino, we believe that education is a powerful key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
It opens doors to opportunity and gives children and their families the chance to build a better future.

To help overcome the financial and social challenges that prevent many from accessing quality education, our Scholarship Program provides meaningful support. This includes school supplies, transportation assistance, food packs, project vouchers, tutoring, and other vital resources—making sure students have what they need to stay in school and thrive.

Guidelines for Schoolars

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT This Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is made and entered into this [insert date], by and between: Hand for the Filipinos (Charity Organization), a non-profit organization with a principal office located at 6 Utah Court , Springdale Heights 6421 NSW, Australia hereinafter referred to as the “Organization,” • and -
[Name of the Student], an incoming first-year high school student (Grade 7) up to senior high school student (Grade 12), hereinafter referred to as the “Scholar.” RECITALS: WHEREAS, the Organization is committed to providing financial support to deserving students through a scholarship program to help them achieve their academic and personal goals;
WHEREAS, the Scholar has been selected as a recipient of the Organization’s scholarship and agrees to comply with the conditions set forth herein. NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises herein, the parties agree as follows:
1. SCOPE OF SCHOLARSHIP:
1.1 Coverage:
The Organization shall provide financial assistance to the Scholar, which includes: • Full tuition coverage for the duration of the Scholar’s high school education (Grade 7 to Grade 12). • A monthly stipend of 1,500 Philippine Pesos (₱1,500) to assist with other school-related expenses such as books, supplies, and transportation.
2. SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS:
2.1 Academic Performance: • The Scholar must maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 85 across all subjects each academic year. • Should the Scholar fail to maintain the required GPA for two consecutive grading periods, the scholarship will be subject to review and possible termination.
2.2 Extracurricular Participation: • The Scholar is required to actively participate in at least one extracurricular activity during the academic year, such as sports, clubs, volunteer work, or other school-related organizations. • The Scholar shall submit proof of participation to the Organization upon request.
2.3 Academic Reports and Updates: • The Scholar agrees to submit academic reports, including report cards and progress updates, to the Organization at the end of each academic term or as requested. • The Scholar shall promptly notify the Organization of any issues regarding their academic performance or participation in extracurricular activities.
3. OBLIGATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION:
3.1 Disbursement of Funds: • The Organization shall ensure the timely disbursement of the scholarship funds, including the tuition coverage and monthly stipend, to the Scholar or the Scholar’s designated guardian. • Disbursements shall be made monthly or as otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
3.2 Support and Mentorship: • The Organization will provide guidance and support to the Scholar throughout their high school years, including opportunities for mentoring, leadership training, and participation in the Organization’s programs.
4. SCHOLAR’S CONSENT TO PUBLISH PROFILE:
4.1 Profile Publication Consent:
The Scholar agrees that their personal information and academic achievements may be used by the Organization for promotional and advocacy purposes. This may include publishing the Scholar’s profile, name, and photograph on the Organization’s website and other promotional materials. Please select one of the following options: • ☐ I agree to have my profile, name, and photograph published on the Organization’s website and promotional materials. • ☐ I do not agree to have my profile, name, and photograph published on the Organization’s website and promotional materials.
4.2 Revocation of Consent:
The Scholar has the right to revoke this consent at any time by submitting a written request to the Organization. However, revoking consent will not affect any previous use of the Scholar’s information.
5. TERMINATION OF SCHOLARSHIP:
5.1 Conditions for Termination:
The scholarship may be terminated by the Organization if: • The Scholar fails to maintain the required GPA for two consecutive grading periods. • The Scholar fails to participate in extracurricular activities or fails to comply with the guidelines set forth in this Agreement. • The Scholar discontinues enrollment or is expelled from school.
5.2 Forfeiture of Funds: • In the event of termination, the Scholar shall forfeit any remaining scholarship funds, including the monthly stipend, effective immediately.
6. MISCELLANEOUS:
6.1 Amendments: • This Agreement may be amended, modified, or supplemented by mutual written consent of both parties.
6.2 Indemnity: • The Scholar agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organization from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the Scholar’s actions or omissions.
6.3 Dispute Resolution: • In the event of any dispute arising from or in connection with this Agreement, the parties agree to resolve the matter amicably through mediation or other mutually agreed-upon dispute resolution processes.
6.4 Severability: • If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.
7. SIGNATORIES: This Memorandum of Agreement is executed in two (2) original copies, one for the Organization and one for the Scholar, both of which shall be deemed equally valid. Signed by: For Hand for the Filipinos (Charity Organization):
